Roof Work
Finally started working in Grace’s roof today. I really would have liked to have accomplished more but I spent about an hour just getting brave enough to stand on my platform.
I first lowered it to its lowest setting. Which isn’t so easy. I found out the hard way - ouch - that the solid base will fall if you try to lower it. So instead I had to disassemble it and build it short to test its stability. Then when I felt confident it wouldn’t crash through I built it at its highest level. Which still requires much prayer to want to climb on top.
I got the toilet vent cap and surrounding area completely cleaned off and cap removed. The cap was rusty inside and stuffed with fiberglass insulation. The cap is currently soaking in rust removal stuff and tomorrow I’ll take it out, wash it off, and paint it properly so I can put it back in place.
Felt good to get that far. I shoved my empty water bottle into the hole to help keep our large critters overnight.
