Making Progress With Windows
It’s hot and humid today with the tropical storm Elsa passing to the south and pushing up her weather that isn’t icy cold! So I decided to do something easy and fast. Lol. What was I thinking! Nothing is easy and fast with a camper restore. But puttying the windows seemed to be a good choice.
I started by shifting the stack of plywood that was just tossed in a mess inside on the floor so that I could walk around and not damage the plywood. Hoping to get back to ceiling clear out and roof pretty soon.
I got out a couple of medium sized windows, made sure they were clean enough and rehung with putty tape and sufficient screws. I previously hung the bathroom window. And today I managed to get three of the four medium windows hung. That’s 4 out of 14 windows done. Cha-ching!
Oh and I cranked each one open as I finished, then walked into one on the outside forgetting they were open. Ouch!
No they don’t look showroom quality but I’m okay with that for now. And the gaskets are old and probably will eventually need replacing. But the windows are back in the holes and that makes me happy. I ran out of putty tape. I have plenty of butyl tape but I don’t want to use that for windows. So I ordered 3 more rolls and in a week or so I should be able to start the putty tape process again.
Now I’m taking a brief break and then heading out to get back to working on the RV shed door. The fun never stops around here.
