Stripping Her Hitch

It was an interesting mix of jobs.  First I unscrewed the junction box had to use my vampliers because there was no read head left. Then I clipped the wires just out to the sides of the box. I freed the wood platform and I’ll work on refinishing it before returning it to its spot. I saved the metal junction box, it’s actually a pretty nice box so I might clean it up and use it rather then the plastic one I bought from etrailer.com.  Then came the fun part. I used bolt cutters to free the chains. And I used my grinder to cut off the metal U bolts which produced scary sparks were going everywhere but I managed to cut off all the rusted pieces and she’s now bare hitch. I had started working on wire brushing off the layers of the A frame, but I had to quit due to shorter daylight and lateness of the hour. I think it’s supposed to rain tomorrow so I’ll pick up again next time I have a nonrain day. Maybe I’ll even use my gun to sand blast or rather walnut pieces blast off some rust....
