Getting Some Lipstick On Grace
The vintage camper guy who teaches the Tuesday night class says that to putty and paint is equal to lipstick on a pig. Well, Grace is no pig, but she’s getting putty and paint not replaced siding. If I planned to restore her to original condition or sell her after restoration I’d definitely do the replaced siding thing. But I’m not. So I’m just going to patch and paint her so we can actually use her hopefully by October. I’ll need to do a second coat but I managed to get one done today.
The red paint turned out gorgeous and exactly like I thought it would, but the yellow not so much. It’s called old equipment yellow. I think it should be called melted cheddar cheese because that’s what it reminds me of. The colors are looking a little reminiscent of McDonald’s and once I add the white and blue it might scream primary school colors. Lol.
Oh well. Done for today. I’ll look at her later to decide if that yellow stays or gets painted over.
