Under Cover And Without Windows
The best plans don’t always work out. Like the idea to get a portable garage to cover her so I can work no matter the weather. Sounded good but at this stage it’s been more trouble then simply tarping her top would have been. At least the present version of straps and blocks is holding for now. Praying it keeps her dry enough for me to leave the windows out until they’re repaired, she’s patched and I get to paint her.
Her windows are all out and in my storage room waiting for a day or twenty when I can get them cleaned and restored. I’m still removing rusty clutchhead screws from her sides to get the bottom trim off. The only way to replace the flooring is to remove that outer trim because it screws into the floor from the outside. And I need to get to her plumbing lines and brakes so the belly skin has to come off too. I got a new creeper and some lifting supports for help with that job. My special needs son thought it would be a great way to move around the house.
And the present state of her is open at the refrigerator wall vent cover and hot water heater access cover as well as all windows. Everything except the trailer lights/reflectors and doors have been removed. I think I’ll not remove the lights, but I will remove the reflectors when I paint her exterior...maybe.
